The Emil Sønderby’s Show Continues.

Written by Amstel Flanders at 17:22 2/3-2024

“Absolutely brilliant and great exhibition of strength,” manager Williamson admitted, raising the arm of a grinning blonde folk in green jersey, surrounded by his team mates.

Denmark Emil Sønderby did it again! The staff had doubts before Norway Tour, some stronger teams in the field and Emil’s lack of TQ despite trainers helped him to reach his peak form for the race. With a full support of world-class riders like Normann, Azargoshasp, Lindberg, our aim to finish better than 3rd in the SC (Iranman, S66, 35 years old) had to be successful.

In theory, two stages suited Sønderby (Stage 3 and 6), so he’d need to rely on his team for Stage 2 and 9. Inspired by his previous victory in Greece, we all were confident and waiting all the good; a shocking win in the first sprint was key to dream, with Emil showing good legs. Then another win in following stage (Normann and Tran were crucial as WBs).

With 20 points of gap, our main worry came from CL stages. Unusual and longer reports describing lots of stuff, mechs and crashes that in any moment we thought of losing a rider due to injury. Still, none of that happened and Emil’s 3rd place in Stage 06 fired the alarms, only 5 points gap to defend for the last stage, though the TM’s advantage played in our favor for once, having a heavy TQ team as support, the Danish star managed to finish 2nd in Oslo and beat his main rival for the SC by a 10 points margin.

Two stage wins, two podiums and the Sprint jersey was the full balance for our team in the viking land, conquered by the reborn viking, skål!!!

  Over n’ Out.
